Nothing Condom: All-time of the Box is the first greatest hits anthology by the American stone band Alice in Chains. It was released on June 29, 1999 on Columbia Records. The previously unreleased rails "Get Born Over again" was released as a single to promote the album^[1] and peaked at No. 4 on Billboard's Mainstream Stone Tracks nautical chart,^[five] and at No. 12 on the Modern Rock Tracks nautical chart.^[6] "Get Born Again" was also nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Operation in 2000.^[7]

Overview [edit]

The album is the beginning of Alice in Chains's best-of albums, and likewise served as a sampler for their Music Bank box set. Nothing Safe contains songs from previous albums Facelift, Sap, Dirt, Jar of Flies, Alice in Chains and Unplugged, too as the previously unreleased track "Get Born Once again", recorded between September and October 1998.^{[8] [9]}

Despite the "Best of the Box" anthology title, the demo version of "We Die Immature" that appears hither is non included on Music Bank and is therefore exclusive to this collection. In addition, "Iron Gland" is featured with the get-go pulsate establish on the Dirt runway "Dam That River". A "All-time Buy Sectional" issue of the CD included a bonus disc in a cardboard sleeve, with live versions of "Angry Chair" and "Homo in the Box". The version of "What The Hell Have I" that appears hither is the original version, not the remixed version that appears on Music Bank.

The album was certified platinum by the RIAA, and the acquirement generated from the album was used to fund the Music Depository financial institution box prepare.^[10]

The anthology has received mainly positive reviews, with critics praising the compilation's inclusion of rare material, along with the band'south hits. Allmusic staff writer Steve Huey gave the album a iv star rating writing "The packet is non unattractive, since nearly all the hits are present in some grade; besides included are the new song "Get Born Once again" and the better of the grouping's 2 contributions to the Concluding Action Hero soundtrack, "What the Hell Take I."^[2]

Bill Adams of Ground Control Mag, reviewing Alice in Chains Discography wrote "To its credit, Zilch Prophylactic is a solid compilation of odds, ends, live tracks, studio cuts, soundtrack appearances and rarities, which serves its purpose for giving 'in-passing' fans a pretty enjoyable set".^[10]
